He created a management system that i s responsive to the strict requirements of the certification process, while also incorporating world-class health and safety measures that drastically reduce accidents.
Coming A Long Way
While Dr Mathur enjoys an extraordinary measure of success in the cosmopolitan environment in Bahrain, he was not always the sophisticated city dweller he is today. “I am a small-town person but it did not stop me from dreaming big,” he explains.
He set off to Jodhpur to acquire his Mechanical Engineering degree, after which he arrived in Bahrain and joined the AMAK Group in 1990.
He augmented his skills through an MBA and went one step further and added a doctorate study in management and business administration from the USA to his roster by 1993.

He views his workforce as the company’s primary stakeholder. “I learnt very early on that quality control is not just about the right tools and technology but also about people management,” he explains.
His focus on uncompromising product and service quality coupled with his shrewd instincts has shaped the direction of new business ventures in the Group to include decorative wrought iron, industrial car park shades, and marble contracting.
Further, his canny choices have transformed AMAC Group into the firm of choice not only for the goliaths of industry such as Bahrain International Airport, Bahrain Petroleum Co. (Bapco), Aluminium Bahrain (ALBA), and Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC), but also for VVIP clients that cater to palaces and private resorts.
